Meals
The cabins have their own kitchen, where you can cook all your meals, but there are also plenty of restaurants and cafes in Beitostølen. At the hotel, breakfast is included.
Difficulty and terrain
It is advisable that you have tried cross-country before, but not required. There is a ski school in the area, and we can add this option for you on request. (read more about difficulty grades) The tracks run through varied, rolling terrain, from spruce and birch forests up to the high open plains surrounded by high mountain peaks. The forest trails offer protection from windy and snowy weather while the trails on the mountain plateau offer wide views on fine days. In general, the trails in the Beitostølen trail network are easy to intermediate. They are not too long or steep, and there are some easy, fun downhill runs and flat parts in between. They fit everyone from beginners and families to competing skiers who come here to train. All routes are numbered and well-described. You can also call our 24/7 local assistance phone number anytime.
When to go
This trip is available between December and April, starting on Sundays. Other arrival days are available on request.
To fully enjoy your skiing adventure in the mountainous areas, it’s important to dress appropriately for the weather conditions and local temperatures. For a comfortable and enjoyable experience, we recommend wearing warm, waterproof clothing, and bringing sunscreen and sunglasses. The winter season starts with short days with six hours of daylight, in December, but then you will get a lot of clear starry skies, and if you are lucky, you may even see the Northern Lights. From around mid-February, you get longer days of around eight hours of daylight and temperatures go into double figures, averaging 10-12C, from March onwards.
