When you head up to the top of Italy’s boot, it looks like the region where the Italian designer really went to town. Geographically, there’s a pretty patchwork of ornate lakes, such as Garda, Como, Maggiore and Iseo which are the turquoise gems of our Northern Italy holidays. However, the north is also interwoven with fine trails such as the Via Francigena or the Alpe-Adria Trail. And the natural fabric is gathered at the very top into a frill of hills, and thrills, with Piedmont’s Val Maira or the high trails of Aosta Valley. And there is never a shortage of wine, such as in the Prosecco and Barolo winelands. to toast the natural wonders of the north.
