Overview
The six counties of the island of Ireland that make up Northern Ireland are home to a lot more than six of the isle’s emeralds. Although Northern Ireland is very small, its natural heritage is verging on mammoth. Such as the Mourne Mountains, which is serious hillwalking territory just 50km from Belfast, Slieve Donard (853m) being the highest peak of twelve over 600m.
More mammoth status is witnessed on our walking holiday of the Causeway Coast, where not only is the Giant’s Causeway Northern Ireland’s most visited site, but the surrounding coast and dramatic clifftop path are also giants of gorgeousness. To follow in the footsteps of an iconic spiritual giant on our Northern Ireland tours, go hiking on St. Patrick’s Way, a soulful journey covering 132km between the historic towns of Armagh and Downpatrick. In the words of Van Morrison, the country’s famous singer, this is a place to ‘let your soul and spirit fly into the mystic.’
