Overview
An eight day, self-guided biking holiday along Turkey’s Turquoise Coast, also known as the Turkish Riviera, of which you will see plenty as you cycle west to east from Fethiye to Adrasan. Spend the two three nights in Fethiye, from which you explore the foothills of the Taurus Mountains, pine forests, green valleys and small coves. Cycling further along the coast, you stay in idyllic coastal spots of Patara (known for the longest beach in Turkey), and the ancient village of Kaş, with even more ancient underwater ruins nearby. The tour comes to a close in the Bay of Adrasan where, as with everywhere along the way, there is plenty of time to bask in its turquoise waters that give this coast its name.

Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Fethiye
Arrival at the airport where you are met and transferred to your hotel in Fethiye, located in the foothills of the Taurus Mountains. Depending on your arrival time, take a walk through Paspatur Old Town with its small shops and fish market, or head to Ölüdeniz for a swim at the Blue Lagoon (payable locally). Close to the harbour are the remains of Telmessos Theatre and the rock-cut Tomb of Amyntas, carved high into the cliffs above town.
- Accommodation: Kilim Apart Hotel or similar in Fethiye
Day 2: Fethiye peninsula circular route | 25km
After breakfast, your bicycles are delivered to the hotel if you have rented from us. Start out on the peninsula route which follows a quiet, coastal road with views across the Gulf of Fethiye. Ride through pine forest to small coves such as Büyük Boncuklu, where we recommend stopping for a refreshing swim before looping back to the centre of Fethiye for the evening.
- Cycling for the day: 25km, ↑275m
- Accommodation: Kilim Apart Hotel or similar in Fethiye
Day 3: Fethiye – Patara | 58km
After breakfast, you are transferred to the village of Zorlar (approx. 20mins). Ride along the foothills of the Akdaglar Mountains to Saklikent National Park, where we recommend a visit to the 20km deep gorge (payable locally). You can explore the first part of this gorge on foot and stop for lunch. Continue cycling through the wide valley, along the Esen Cay River and then on to the archaeological site of Xanthos and ancient village of Patara, known for the longest sandy beach in Turkey.
- Cycling for the day: 60km, ↑400m
- Accommodation: Ferah Hotel or similar in Patara
Day 4: Patara – Kaş | 47km
Today’s bike route is shorter and allows plenty of time to further explore the ancient city of Patara in the morning. Follow the coastal road to the fishing town of Kaş. The only challenging section on the ride is a steep climb to the village of Eski Kalkan, where we recommend to stop at a local restaurant for lunch. Descend along the coast and cycle along Kaputaş beach, an ideal spot for a swim. End the day in Kaş, once a quiet fishing village, nowadays it has a laid-back charm with whitewashed houses cascading down the mountainside to the harbour.
- Cycling for the day: 40km, ↑500m
- Accommodation: Hotel Kayahan or similar in Kaş
Day 5: Rest day in Kaş
The harbour town of Kaş lies on a slope covered with small shops, restaurants and bars. Explore the narrow winding streets and traditional architecture, including a mosque which was formerly an old Greek church. Kaş also offers archaeological highlights such as the ancient theatre of Antiphellos from the Hellenistic era and Lycian tombs. Today there is the option of a short bike ride around the Çukurbağ Peninsula (13km).
- Accommodation: Hotel Kayahan or similar in Kaş
Day 6: Kaş – Myra – Finike | 66km
After breakfast, you are transferred to the quieter upper valley where today’s ride begins. Cycle through a valley of rural villages where time seems to have stood still. Take time to explore the ruins of Myra, known for its rock-cut tombs and large Roman theatre. Nearby is the Church of St. Nicholas, linked to the figure who inspired Santa Claus. Continue along the rugged coastline to Finike. Spend the afternoon strolling along the marina or visiting the long pebble Gökliman Beach.
- Cycling for the day: 66km, ↑600m
- Accommodation: Hotel Finike 2000 or similar in Finike
Day 7: Finike – Adrasan | 46km
The first section of the ride is flat and steady, as you cycle through wide farming plains filled with citrus orchards and greenhouses. The second part of the ride is on secondary coastal roads with a gradual ascent. You then descend to the village of Çavuşköy, a great spot to stop for a lunch of traditional Turkish food. End the day following the coast into Adrasan, where you can relax with a refreshing dip or take a boat trip to Suluada Island (payable locally).
- Cycling for the day: 46km, ↑500m
- Accommodation: Dayco Bungalow or similar in Adrasan
