Overview
This is the most popular of the Camino routes, between Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port in the French Pyrenees and Santiago de Compostela in Galicia. The Camino Frances Logroño to Burgos section is a seven day inland journey, starting in the Rioja Valley, continuing on through vineyards and woodland to the Burgos region and the Oca Mountains. Heading into the Pico Valley, cultural highlights include the UNESCO prehistoric caves of Atapuerca, the medieval marvels of Santo Domingo de la Calzada and, last but not least, the city of Burgos, sometimes called the Gothic capital of Spain.
