Meals
The trip includes seven breakfasts, seven dinners and six packed lunches. A large breakfast is served each morning and, on walking days, you get a packed lunch prepared by the accommodation. A delicious dinner with local specialties is served every night at the restaurant of the accommodation.
Difficulty and terrain
The walks are moderate to demanding, some of them longer and more challenging as the climbings can be quite steep. The walk on day 5 is demanding because of the elevation change (you walk uphill for about 900m and then you descend for 720m), but it is not technically difficult, and it is very panoramic. A good level of fitness is required for enjoying the walks to the maximum (read more about difficulty grades). The walks are over mountain meadows, woodland trails, dirt tracks, stony paths and inevitable pieces of asphalt roads in the villages. All the paths are well marked and regularly maintained. We strongly advise you to follow only marked trails and never try to shorten the path through the unknown and unmarked terrain. We will provide you with detailed road notes and maps, and you can call our 24/7 local assistance phone number anytime. More detailed info on route navigation will be included in your holiday information pack.
When to go
You can start your holiday every day between 1 June and 5 October. The climate in this valley is similar to the one you can find in other alpine valleys. Temperatures in summer are mild, with warm days and cool nights. Due to its particular position, one valley side is in the sun when the other side is in the shadow so, you need to take a warm pullover with you when you hike on the shady side.

By plane
Our recommended arrival/departure airports for this holiday are the ones in Turin (Italy) and Nice (France), which are all served by the major and low-cost international carriers.

Both airports are connected to the major cities in the area by public transport, which is affordable and offers frequent service. From Torino Airport (TRN), reach the train station Torino Porta Nuova and take a train to Cuneo. From Nice Airport (NCE), reach the Nice-Ville train station and get on the Train des Merveille to Cuneo.
From Cuneo, there are only a few direct buses to Prazzo. You need to reach Prazzo Inferiore by bus (with a change in Dronero).
