Overview
A five day, self-guided walking holiday along Brittany’s Pink Granite Coast, so called because of its gorgeous collection of granite rocks and naturally-eroded sculptures, hidden bays and all round rosy rambles. Starting in Perros-Guirec and finishing in Lannion, this really is Brittany at its most beautiful, with the first three nights in Perros-Guirec. Walk a stretch of the GR34, towards the prettiest of coastal villages, Ploumanac’h, head out along Île Renote peninsula taking in pink granite coves, and follow soothing trails through coastal pine forest to finish in the handsome historic town of Lannion. There is also an option for an additional day, to take a boat to the Sept Îles archipelago, a birding haven tucked off the Pink Granite Coast.

Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Perros-Guirec
Arrive in Perros-Guirec and check into your accommodation. The town sits at the eastern end of the Pink Granite Coast, with easy access to coastal paths, beaches and sections of the GR34. If time allows, take a short walk along the seafront or around the harbour.

Day 2: Perros-Guirec – Ploumanac’h – Perros-Guirec | 16km
Follow a stretch of the GR34, known as the Sentier des Douaniers, towards Ploumanac’h. The path follows the shoreline, offering clear views of the sea and the distinctive pink granite rock formations. In Ploumanac’h, we recommend taking time to explore the village, its small harbour and nearby coastal viewpoints before returning the same way to Perros-Guirec.

Day 3: Île Renote peninsula | 11km
You are transferred (12mins) to Sainte-Anne, on the Île Renote peninsula. Pause to take in the view across the Sainte-Anne bay, extending as far as Mean Ruz lighthouse in Perros-Guirec and the rocky shoreline at Castel Menguy. Continue along the shoreline, walking past small coves where you get another opportunity to take in the region’s magnificent pink granite rocks. Toul Drez beach makes a pleasant stop along the route. The route continues towards Landrellec, offering panoramic views along the way. At the end of the walk, you are transferred back to Perros-Guirec.

Optional day: Sept Îles archipelago
We recommend extending your tour by adding an excursion to the Sept Îles archipelago. If you choose to do so, you spend an extra night in Perros-Guirec. Please pre-book the excursion here.
Embark on a 1h 45mins excursion to explore this remarkable natural site. The Sept-Îles archipelago is France’s largest seabird reserve and habitat for over 30 species, including the only northern gannet colony in France. Take in a final viewing of the pink granite rocks as you slowly cruise past Ploumanc’h and Saint Guirec bay.

Day 4: Perros-Guirec – Lannion / Trébeurden | 20km
You are transferred (approx. 20mins) to Trébeurden to begin the walk towards Lannion, following a coastal path above the sea through areas of pine forest and open clifftop. The route alternates between headlands and beaches. The final section leads inland to Lannion, which has a handsome historic centre with half-timbered architecture. In the evening, choose from a range of restaurants to sample Breton cuisine. Overnight in Lannion, or transfer back to Trébeurden, if you chose the superior accommodation option.

Day 5: Departure
Departure after breakfast. If you stayed in Trébeurden, a private transfer to Lannion for onward train connections is included.

Meals
Breakfast is included on all days. When no restaurant location is available en route, lunches and snacks can either be bought from local shops or packed lunches can be pre-ordered from your hotel the night before. Dinner is available either at the accommodation or from restaurants in the local area.
Difficulty and terrain
This tour is rated easy to moderate, with most days offering 4-5h of walking, suitable for any walker with good level of fitness. The route is mostly marked and on a well-defined path. The trails can be rocky so good boots with ankle support and walking poles are highly recommended (read more about difficulty grades).
We strongly advise you only to follow marked trails and never try to shorten the path through unknown and unmarked terrain. When to go
This tour runs from April to the beginning of November. The flexibility of self-guided holidays means there are no fixed dates, and you can start your trip on any date in the season.
From April to June the weather is generally mild, with the temperatures not exceeding 20C, and rain being more likely. July and August are the driest months, with average temperatures around 20-24C, though they can occasionally reach 30C. These are also the busiest months. September is similar to June, whilst temperatures drop in October to 14-16C, with more rainy days.
