Cycling Catalonia: La Garrotxa Short Break

Get on a cycling adventure through La Garrotxa Natural Park’s ancient volcanic landscapes and the Catalan countryside’s gently rolling hills, loved by both amateur and professional cyclists training there in the winter. You will spend most of the overnights in Olot, at a comfortable rural hotel with a private swimming pool just a few steps away from one of the best restaurants in La Garrotxa. The perfect base for some excellent cycling. Then you follow the Via Verde, a converted railway cycling path, to reach Girona’s medieval town centre, with its impressive cathedral and colourful houses along the river. Going mostly on quiet country roads with less traffic with a limited elevation gain, the routes are accessible and suitable for beginner cyclists and family vacations.

  • La Garrotxa Natural Park and its fascinating volcanic rock formations

Can Blanc is a 19th-century “masía” (traditional cottage house). It was completely restored to provide maximum comfort. It has a wide terrace, a private swimming pool, a garden area of 8000 sq m and a private parking area.

Located in the very heart of Girona´s old town, next to the cathedral and near Sant Domènec square. This hotel is a mix between history and modernity; the building has foundations from Roman times, 11th-century walls, and has been renovated preserving the spirit of the time adding the comfort and elegance of modern times.

Hotels are subject to availability. In case a particular hotel is fully booked for your desired dates, we will replace it with a hotel of equal or higher value and quality level. We will provide exact accommodation details to you upon booking confirmation.

All breakfasts are included in the programme. When no restaurant location is available en route lunches and snacks should either be bought from local shops or you can pre-order a packed lunch at your hotel. Dinner is available either from the restaurant in your accommodation or from the restaurants in the town where you stay for overnight.
