Overview
This tour will take you on a cycling adventure across the countryside and the islands of Dalmatia, starting in the beautiful area of Konavle and ending on the historic Korcula island. In the course of seven days, you will explore amazing islands, medieval towns, old villages and lovely bays. Croatia is country of countless islands, rich history, Mediterranean vegetation and mild climate, the best ingredients for a perfect biking holiday.
The tour is eight days/seven nights long and is based in three areas: beginning in Konavle, where you spend two days, then you continue travelling over Pelješac peninsula towards Korčula where you spend another two days, after that, you cruise to the beautiful island of Mljet and return to Dubrovnik area where you spend your last night.

Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Dubrovnik, Transfer to Konavle
Meet at Dubrovnik airport and short transfer to Konavle, fitting the bikes, briefing with our representative and, depending on the timing, going for a warm-up ride in Konavle valley.

Day 2: Cycling in the Konavle Countryside | 40-65km
This day you will spend cycling in the farming area of Dubrovnik. The cycling route follows the valley and river Ljuta, villages of Zvekovica (with possible visit of the town of Cavtat) and group of the villages in Gornja Banda.

Day 3: Konavle over Peninsula Pelješac to Korčula | 52km
Today you take a shuttle from Konavle to Peljesac peninsula and Korcula island. Whoever wants to add some distance to the route can cycle Peljesac peninsula bike route (up to 50km, very scenic but demanding). If you decide to skip that you can get directly to Korcula and go for a shorter bike ride along the island. Overnight Lumbarda.

Day 4: Korcula Loop Ride | 40km
For the second day on the Korcula island we suggest a circular ride from the village Lumbarda to Korcula town, where you can visit the city’s sites (the cathedral, the house of Marco Polo etc.), and after that continue biking along the coastal road to the picturesque bay of Racisce and back to Lumbarda.

Day 5: Korčula to Mljet National Park | 30km
After breakfast head to port Korcula where you take a ferry to Mljet, journey time about 30min. Your ride starts in the village Pomena or Polace (just outside the national park territory) and your route will take you around the salt lakes, through the villages Babine Kuće and Soline, around the local lakes and back to Polace or Pomena. Today you will spend the day on the lovely island of Mljet, famous for its natural protected area, two salt lakes and many historical monuments dating to ancient times. Overnight in Polače/Pomena.

Day 6: Mljet to Dubrovnik
Today you depart from Mljet to Dubrovnik, taking a ferry (or combine with a car shuttle, transfer from the island depends of the available ferries and season). Upon arrival in Dubrovnik, you will be taken to your accommodation.

Day 7: Departure
After breakfast transfer back to Dubrovnik airport according to your flight times, or transfer to some other address in Dubrovnik town in case you want to extend your holidays for a few more days there.

The accommodation of this trip is in 3-star guesthouses with en-suite facilities and breakfast included each morning. Meals
Breakfasts are included on all days, and generally consider your active programme with various low-fat and high-nutrition choices. Lunches and dinners are on your own, but individual arrangements with accommodation can be made on the spot.
Difficulty and terrain
This trip requires a good physical condition as the daily cycling can reach up to 65km; still, the itinerary is relatively flexible, and you can take shorter routes on some of the days (read more about difficulty grades). There is also an option for renting an E-bike which makes the trip practically accessible to anyone. Upon arrival, you will receive detailed travel information with route maps or overview maps, route description, tourist attractions and important telephone numbers.
When to go
Limited availability from 16 July 2023 to 30 August 2023.
The best time for cycling is between June and mid-September when the wildflowers are in bloom, and the weather is generally good. Earlier in the season, there may be some residual snow patches, but this will not require any special equipment or skills. The flexibility of self guided holidays means that there are no fixed dates, and you can start your trip on any date during the season.
