Difficulty and terrain
During the week you will walk mainly on well-maintained trails and some paved vineyard paths. Depending on the route, you can make the stages more leisurely or more challenging. The peaks in the Wachau region are not high, but steep in places so you will have to be careful in some sections. The walk offers a perfect blend of nature, culture and culinary delights. Daily walking times are not more than 5 hours (read more about difficulty grades). We strongly advise you to follow only marked trails and never try to shorten the path through the unknown and unmarked terrain. We will provide you with detailed road notes and maps, and you can call our 24/7 local assistance phone number anytime. More detailed info on route navigation will be included in your holiday information pack.
