While we have always been focused on identifying and developing the best self guided walking and cycling itineraries for our customers, there are some regions of the world where going on your own will not provide the best experience. For example, there are beautiful places which – for good or for bad – lack the necessary waymarking to go on your own and feel comfortable that you will not get lost. Or there are no accommodations along the route, so you will need someone to carry your home 🙂 And finally there are areas where local regulations do not allow visitors who are not being accompanied by a local guide.
To open up these remote parts of the world, we add a local guide to accompany you. Most of our guided hikes and treks are privately guided – you still have the flexibility to choose your dates and companions, as you will not be part of a group of strangers, but you will have the full attention of your personal guide. On other itineraries you will be part of a small group and have the same level of personal attention but benefit from shared guide costs and enjoy the company of like-minded travellers – who will maybe become your best friends!
