Few know that Denmark has its own Camino route called Hærvejen (“The Army Road”, also known as “The Oxen Road”), which is the most famous hiking trail in the country. It was established in the Middle Ages as an important route for the transport of animals and goods, as well as for pilgrims and armies. Hærvejen was designated a European Cultural Route in 2010.
