For lovers of coastal trails, hiking Lycian Way’s ancient trails in Turkey is legendary. It’s littoral-y lush, with sunken cities, secret coves and sea that stays warm for months on end. It’s also historically rich, with trails that take you to the archaeological wonders of Olympos or Kayaköy. Although this 500km network of ancient pastoral tracks and idyllic villages has been here for centuries, it was British walker and writer Kate Clow who truly put it on the map as recently as 1999. Walk the whole thing, with some transfers to trailheads to speed things up a little, or divide into sections. Not going to lie, Lycia is a one off and you’ll fall in love with her so much, she’ll keep luring you back.
