Where Do our Walking Holidays in Spain Take Place?

Camino Ways

We have developed itineraries of different length and difficulty along the most attractive Caminos, so that you can easily find the right Camino experience for you.

Catalan Pyrenees

The Spanish Catalan Pyrenees are a hiker’s paradise, offering dramatic and unspoiled landscapes, dotted with quaint stone villages clustered around old churches. This is a great walking region, enjoying the warmest climate of all the Pyrenean range, and our route is designed to combine some superb mountain walking with welcoming accommodations, where you will discover the delicious Catalan cuisine with its tasty sausages and cured meats, fresh trout from the rivers, and robust wines from the coastal plains.

Basque Pyrenees and Coast

The Basque Mountains are a mountain range situated in the northern Iberian Peninsula. Geographically it is considered as the eastern section of the larger Cantabrian Range. The range runs through the Basque Autonomous Community and western Navarre. Our walking holidays in the Basque Pyrenees include walks across hills, peaks, meadows and forests to reach two of the most beautiful places in Spain: Fuenterrabia and San Sebastian. The itineraries run along the valleys close to the French border, partially following the GR-11 long-distance trail. You will walk on paths offering spectacular views, finishing with a magnificent coastal walk into San Sebastian, one of the most beautiful towns in Europe.

Costa Brava

Bathed in warm Mediterranean sunshine, and with the peaks of the Pyrenees providing a dramatic backdrop, the Spanish and French Catalan coast invites exploration on foot. Our Costa Brava walking routes take you into one of the loveliest coastal areas of the Catalan Pyrenees on both sides of the French/Spanish border, an area largely unknown to outsiders.

Galicia

Located in the northwest of the Iberian Peninsula, Galicia comprises the provinces of A Coruña, Lugo, Ourense and Pontevedra. Ribeira Sacra in Galicia is one of the hidden gems of Spain. This is a land of ancient monasteries, scenic villages and impressive gorges, and there are many terraced vineyards hidden in the steep gorges, producing great wines. The gorges of Sil and Miño provide dramatic scenery, with high cliffs comparable to the Norwegian fjords, but enjoying the privileged Spanish climate.

Sierra de Guadarrama

The mountains around Madrid and Segovia are an unexpected hiker’s paradise. It is a real surprise to most walkers to find such a beautiful alpine scenery so close to a big city like Madrid. The range runs southwest-northeast, extending from the province of Ávila in the southwest, through the Community of Madrid, to the province of Segovia in the northeast. The range measures approximately 80 kilometres in length. Its highest peak is Peñalara, 2,428 metres in elevation.

Canary Islands

The Canary Islands; Spanish: Islas Canarias, is a Spanish archipelago and the southernmost autonomous community of Spain located in the Atlantic Ocean, 100 kilometres west of Morocco at the closest point. The seven main islands are (from largest to smallest in area) Tenerife, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, La Palma, La Gomera and El Hierro. Our walking holidays in the Canaries include some great walks in La Palma and La Gomera.

Balearic Islands

Mallorca is the largest island in the Balearic Islands, which are also part of Spain and located in the Mediterranean. Our walking holidays in Mallorca takes in all the great trails of Mallorca, where the rugged mountains of the Tramuntana Sierra plunge into the sea. This spectacular walk follows winding trails that link the most picturesque towns and villages – Sóller, Pollença and Valldemossa.
