The Rota Vicentina is a wild web of trails covering 400km, divided into two main sections: the Caminho Histórico or the Historical Way and the Trilho dos Pescadores or the Fishermen’s Trail. They have been formed over the years by fishers and farmers, residents and ramblers to connect Santiago do Cacém in the Alentejo region with the dramatic headland of Cabo de São Vicente on the southern Algarve coast. Together, they now form one of the most stunning, sustainable adventure arteries in the country.
