Cycling in Hungary
The official flag of Hungary is known colloquially as Red-White-Green, as it’s a tricolour of all of these colours. They represent strength (red), fidelity (white), and hope (green), all shades that feature on our Hungary cycling holidays. You need strength when you cycle the Danube, with opportunities to cycle Vienna to Budapest, the capital classic route. Although there are also e-bike tours so you can save your strength.
You will also feel hopeful about the untouched nature of the countryside, in a country that may have been through some political turmoil but which has stayed pristine in other ways. And as for green, cycling is a clean way to delve into the Danube, Budapest as well as the medieval towns of Szentendre and Esztergom. So let’s fly that flag high for cycling in Hungary.
