Easy/moderate walking holidays

Easy/moderate walking holidays The Natural Adventure 1

These are similar to our easy walking holidays, but these ones take you up a gear and require you to put your foot on the ‘gas’ a bit. Gently though, as these trails are still meant to feel reasonably easy. They are a perfect upgrade if you have done an easy walking holiday and want to push yourself a little on some days, but chill at the beach or in an interesting city on others.

How do we define easy/moderate walking holidays?

In terms of our difficulty grades, these holidays are mostly easy but may include longer hikes on some days with moderate uphill or downhill elevations. Generally, the walking routes are well maintained but may involve some rougher terrain and steeper or exposed sections on certain days. Walking is on average 4-6h per day (up to 15km). So some hiking experience is recommended, and also an awareness of safe walking practices as you may go into more remote terrain than on our easy walking holidays. Don’t let this put you off though, because these are self-guided holidays where you can still pace yourself, and you can always skip or opt for a shorter walk on some days.

Quite a few of our easy/moderate walking holidays are centre-based, which means that you stay at one hotel throughout, and so you have more time to chill once you’re back from your walking trail. Such as walking in Málaga or on Flores Island in the Azores, snowshoeing in Chamonix Valley or winter walking in Slovakia’s High Tatras. Just because they sound adventurous, and they most definitely are that, doesn’t mean these are taxing trails. They are, however, slightly more flexing ones.
