Coast to Coast Path walking tours

Coast to Coast Path The Natural Adventure

There’s something so special about the fact that this now iconic Coast to Coast Path was dreamt up by one person: Alfred Wainwright, a celebrated fellwalker, travel writer and artist, who set out to create an alternative to the Pennine Way, in his 1973 book A Coast to Coast Walk. Decades later, it’s now a National Trail and national treasure really, covering 293km and traditionally walked west to east. On our Coast to Coast Path holidays you can walk the complete trail in 16 days, or take on a shorter west or east section.

When walking the Coast to Coast Path in its entirety, you start at St Bees on the Cumbrian Coast and finish at Robin Hoods Bay at the foot of North York Moors National Park. This is just one of three national parks along the trail, the others being the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales. So although this is in no way a walk in just one park, you don’t need to be an Ironman or woman to take on the challenge. You just need a Wainwright sense of wonder.
