Walking Holidays in Armenia

Although the geographical location of Armenia lies in the West of Asia,  it is a European country culturally and politically. A land of rugged mountains and extinct volcanoes, Armenia has its highest point on Mount Aragats. It is an isolated four-peaked volcano massif. The northern summit of Araragtsis lies about 4,095 meters above sea level. It is the highest point of the Lesser Caucasus and also one of the highest points in the Armenian Highlands.

Armenia borders Georgia in the North, Iran in the South, Turkey in the West, the de facto independent Republic of Artsakh and Azerbaijan in the East. It covers 28,203 square kilometres of land, also 1,540 square kilometres of water, with a total area of 29,743 square kilometres.
