This is the hometown of the famous Postojna Caves. Welcome meeting with our representative. • Accommodation: 4-star hotel in Postojna
  • Walking for the day: none / caves guided tour

Day 2: Postojna – Hudicevec

(Optional standard or special tour of Postojna Caves in the morning). Then walk to the stunning Predjama castle, sitting dominantly on the side of a cliff face. From here it’s a gentle stroll towards the  beautiful Nanos Mountain as the sun goes down behind it, ending your day with delightful home-cooked meals and fine local wine.

  • Accommodation: 2-star country guesthouse (agriturismo)
  • Walking for the day: 21 km (4-5 hours)

Day 3: Hudicevec – Slap pri Vipravi

You start your walk at the village of Razdrto, sitting in the shadow of Nanos mountain. You can hike to the top and enjoy a splendid view of Slovenia and the Friulian plains, or follow the trail along the hillside to the wine valley of Vipava. As you continue walking past vineyard-covered hills, there are many medieval castles to visit along the way.

The region’s soil is known as Terra Rosa, and from it the ruby red Teran and Refošk wines are produced; they are not exported, so sampling one in the heart of the Karst is a rare treat. You’ll stay overnight in Štanjel, a traditional village.
